I Am Adopted

Who am I?

I am not who my parents say I am. My family, my friends. I am not who my transcript says I am or who my resume says I am. I am not who social media says I am, who society says I am, or who the current world views say I am. I am not the lies believed about me. I am not who the enemy says I am.

I am a child of God. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I was woven together by the Maker of the universe. I am made new. I am forgiven. I am loved without condition. (Psalm 139:14, Jeremiah 1:5Colossians 3:9-10Ephesians 1:71 John 4:16)

When the world says I’m too far gone, the Father says I’m made new. (2 Corinthains 5:17)

When the world says that I’m weak, the Father says I’ll be strong for you. (2 Corinthains 12:9-10)

When the world says I’ve been forsaken, the Father says I will receive you. (Psalm 27:10)

When the world says I’m misunderstood, the Father says they don’t know me. (John 3:1)

When the world says I’m useless, the Father says he chose me for a purpose. (Ephesians 1:5)

When the world says I’m lazy, the Father says I work vigorously. (Proverbs 31:17)

When the world says I’m alone, the Father says he will never leave me. (John14:18)

When the world says I’m unruly, the Father says his discipline is for our good. (Hebrews 12:4-10)

When the world says I’m less than, the Father says I have overcome. (1 John 4:4)

When the world says I’m a mistake, the Father says I shine. (Philippians 2:15)

I was bought with a price to be adopted into sonship. I know who created me. I know who I belong to. I know who loves me and calls me by name. The Creator of this world, the King of all Kings, the one and only Savior- my identity is in Jesus Christ.

I am a child of God.
